In business, such as in life, disputes are part of the journey. However, when is it better to bow out versus continuing with the company and essentially trying to make it work?

Well, there is no easy answer. It depends on the reason for the unhappiness.

Suppose something you reasonably know will never change and is founded in a disconnect between your and your partner’s values, well. In that case, there is often little to be done. It is often better to bow out.

However, suppose it is a difference in opinion. In that case, it could be better to find healthier ways of dealing with issues between you. Mastering the skills of negotiation could be vital in ensuring a healthier environment.

It could be, though, that you have waited too long and that the result is a disconnect that feels unbridgeable. It could be better and in everyone’s best interests to mediate or even have a facilitated session to build strong bridges.

In our Programs, we unpack these scenarios and help you find the best way forward, even if this means negotiating the most reasonable buyout.
